
The South Bronx is trying a new model for Community Supported Agriculture (CSA). Tradionally CSAs provide locally farmed produce to suburban customers who pay ~$500 at the begining of a season. Professor Dennis Derryck in the Bronx knows that his neighbors can’t afford that so he has raised money to subsidize the price of farm shares. Check out this video in the NY Times.
